David Friedman was born in Chicago and attended the Minneapolis Collage of Art and Design (B.F.A), the University of Minnesota (Humanities major) and the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore (M.F.A). As an art student, he was invited to attend the Aspen International Design Conference in Colorado.

He largely is inspired by nature, using vibrant colors to create dreamy surreal image
