Measurement Guide

X-Pleat Style Curtains
How to measure curtain width

For Curtain Track Systems
Measure the distance between the fixed runners on both sides of the rail. (The ring you place the hook)
Please make sure to measure the rail, and not the fabric.
Once you have that measurement, you will want to use the formula below to determine the finished width.
Applying the formula below will give the curtain a bit more width for a better overall look.

Finished Width = Rail width x 1.05

How to measure the length

The length of the curtain is the distance between the place you connect the curtain and the floor or bottom of the window.

For Full Length Curtains
We recommend subtracting .5 inches from the measured length to prevent dust and particles on the floor from getting on the curtains.

For Window Sized Curtains
For windows, we recommend adding 6 - 8 inches to the measured length to ensure full coverage of the window.

For other Custom Configurations
Depending on your configuration we recommend not letting curtains touch the floor but be long enough that it can cover the full length to prevent light from coming through the sides. If you need further assistance you can contact our customer service team here.

Due to the nature of the sewing process, the finished length may vary up to .75inches.

Adjustable Hooks

Measuring for Adjustable Curtain Hooks
Xpleat style curtains come with adjustable hooks that can move the height of the curtain 2.5 inches. Depending on the position you want to showcase your curtains, we recommend adding an additional 2 inch to the height of your curtains measurements allowing you to move the adjustable hook into a lower position which will cover the curtain rod and not drag along the floor.

Grommet Style Curtains
How to measure curtain width

For Curtain Rods
Measure the distance of the entire curtain rod not including the finials.
Once you have that measurement, use the formula below to determine the finished width.
If you would like additional volume in your curtains you can increase the multiplier for a longer overall curtain.

Finished Width = Rail width x 1.5

How to measure the length

The length of the curtain is the distance from the top of the curtain rod and the floor or bottom of the window.

For Full Length Curtains
We recommend subtracting .5 inches from the measured length to prevent dust and particles on the floor from getting on the curtains.

For Window Sized Curtains
For windows, we recommend adding 6 - 8 inches to the measured length to ensure full coverage of the window.

Other Important Details

Depending on the width of the curtain, there may be seams due to the nature of Hawaiian fabrics.
We have designed the curtains to disguise the seams to be hidden or less obvious giving you a clean look.

Curtain Fabric Details

Fabric Thickness

Thin
Thin fabrics are lightweight fabrics ranging from shear to something that would be equivalent to a lightweight cotton fabric weight. Often thinner than standard curtains, these are great as accents or if you are looking for a decorative Hawaiian design. These fabrics are best used when looking for something lightweight that will be able to move in the wind and allow light to pass through.

Standard
Standard fabrics are characterized as fabrics similar to a standard cotton or rayon fabric material like a thick dress shirt. These fabrics will allow some light to pass through but will also block some light and allow a certain level of privacy. These fabrics are best used as standard curtains that have some movement but will still allow for privacy and direct sunlight allowing for a warm Hawaiian environment.

Thick
Thick fabrics are your traditional upholstery or heavy weight drapery fabrics. While not completely blackout, these fabrics are very opaque and will block out the majority for sunlight. Being heavy weight fabrics, they will allow for more resistance to the elements and last longer than a light weight fabric. These fabrics are best used as blackout drapery fabrics when you want to block out sunlight.

Curtain Fabric Texture

Soft
Soft fabrics are fabrics soft to the touch like rayon, silk, and some forms of cotton. These fabrics have a flowy texture and are best used when you want something without structure that can move easily and feel nice to the touch.

Standard
Standard fabrics are fabrics that have a bit more structure with little to no stretch and are best suited for a variety of products. Examples of standard fabrics are 100% cotton or poly cotton fabrics that you would find in many thicker Hawaiian shirts.

Hard
Hard fabrics are stiffer to the touch and retain a lot of structure with no stretch. Examples of hard fabrics are canvas and various types of upholstery fabrics.

FAQ

Does the curtain have a lining? Can I get them with a lining?
Currently all our curtains come without lining. We are looking into offering a lining option in the future but are not able to do so at this current time.

How do I get blackout curtains?
We currently do not offer traditional blackout curtains at this time. However we offer select curtain fabrics made with thicker fabrics which will block out a lot of light and are a good option if you are looking for black out curtains.
